Dental Hygiene in Maple Ridge

Cleaning & Hygiene

Dr. Safaei and his team at White House Dental Center offer a comprehensive, convenient dental hygiene schedule to cater to our patients’ busy lives. Each patient at White House Dental Center is evaluated on an individual basis. Ideally twice a year you’ll see your dentist for a regular oral exam, exams may also include x-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.

Before or after your dental exam your hygienist will preform a deep cleaning of your teeth and gums to prevent and treat disease. They start by using a scaler to remove any tartar and plaque build-up, they then use a polisher and coarse toothpaste to remove any remaining stains and plaque. This will be followed by a thorough flossing of your teeth and gums and finished off with the option of a fluoride treatment.

During your exam, your dentist will closely check the health of your gums, teeth, jaw and bite. At White House Dental Center, we believe that prevention is one of the most important factors to a healthy smile. The earlier we can detect disease and potential problems, the smaller and less invasive the treatment.

Sealants

Dental bonding, also known as sealants, are a perfect dental service to offer to patients as it is additional protection against cavities. How it does this is by sealing the natural pits and grooves of our teeth. When food and bacteria get caught in these pits and grooves of our teeth it can encourage bacteria to start growing, which can then turn into decay on the teeth.

We highly recommend this service to children that have their adult molars erupted, to help protect them through their adolescences.
