Inlays and onlays can be used to repair teeth when the damage is too extreme for standard composite fillings (tooth-coloured fillings). These porcelain fillings are tooth coloured like composite fillings but are custom-made in a dental laboratory. Once received from the dental lab the inlay or onlay is then permanently cemented to the tooth as a single piece.
